Elms Lea is pleased to introduce the latest non-surgical facial rejuvenation treatments using muscle relaxing injections and fillers.

Facial rejuvenation can effectively reduce wrinkles and tighten loose skin, giving you a more youthful look. At the practice, we are able to offer Botulinum toxin (Botox®) and dermal fillers (Juvederm® and Restylane®) to achieve the result you want.

Botulinum injections (Botox®)

Botulinum toxin type A (Botox®) is effective at reducing lines and wrinkles associated with facial expression. Botulinum toxin injections are commonly used to treat lines between the eyebrows and on the bridge of the nose, forehead lines and furrows and crow's feet

The injections temporarily block the transmission of nerve impulses to the muscles, which cause wrinkles and lines, allowing these to relax. The treatment can also result in a brow lift if desired.

Your facial expression will become more relaxed but by no means mask-like. The overall result is very natural. Several tiny injections to the required areas cause relaxation of the targeted muscle fibers,a cold compress is all that is required for soothing the skin.

Generally the initial effect is seen within 5 days and the maximum effect is seen 14 days after treatment. This lasts approximately 3-4 months. Regular maintenance treatment every 3-4 months prevents recurrence. Botulinim toxin injections can also be used in conjunction with dermal fillers for deep lines.

Fillers

Restylane® and Juvederm® are gels known as Hyaluronic Acid “Fillers” made from Non-animal sources. As these products are identical to the natural substances in the body it means they are completely naural and safe. As you age the amount of Hyaluronic Acid in the skin decreases. This in turn can make the skin thinner and wrinkled.

Fillers are used to fill out or smooth wrinkles, lines or folds on yor face that have been created by the loss of Hyaluraonic Acid (elasticity) in the skin as you age. By restoring the volume to these areas your skin will look smoother and softer, resulting in a fresher and more youthful appearance.

Fillers can be used for:

  • Eye lines
  • Mouth lines
  • Smile lines on the cheeks
  • Skin indentations
  • Frown lines between the eyebrows

The gels are used in different thicknessess depending on the result desired.

Small injections, including Local anaesthetic within the gel, are given to the required areas. An instant result can be seen, with effects lasting 4 to 6 months.
